FOUNDER'S DAY 2008
Lawrence College celebrated
its Annual Founder’s Day 2008 with traditional fervour and enthusiasm on 18th
October, 2008. The Chief Guest on the occasion was, GOC 12
Div. Major General Maqsood Ahmed, who is also the
Chairman Executive
Committee
Lawrence College.
In addition, parents
of the students, old Gallians
and many other distinguished guests including military
and civil officials
were also present on the event.
On the auspicious Day, the
young Gallians of the Senior, the Prep and the Junior Schools put up a
spectacular show and received a lot of
appreciation from the crowd present on
the occasion. The viewers were amused to watch the nail-biting competition of P.T., Martial Arts and Gymnastics amongst the young competitors.
Earlier, on his arrival, the
Chief Guest was received by the Principal of the College, Air Commodore (Retd.)
Farooq H. Kiyani and the members of the faculty.
The Chief Guest declared the
function open. This was followed by the march past by gallians from the Senior
School. After the march
past, the young gallians from the
Junior School
presented P.T. show. Later, boys from the three school presented martial arts
and gymnastics in superb way. They performed all the activity excellently and
thrilled the spectators by their breath-taking actions.
In the end, the Chief Guest
accompanied by the Principal gave away the
prizes to the winners and
appreciated the efforts initiated by the Principal and his team.
To boost the morals of teachers, this year, cash
prizes and merit certificates were awarded to teachers. In Senior school Mr.
Abid Hussain, Mr. Shabbir Alam and Mr. Altaf were
declared
best teachers. Mr. Salman and Miss Fauzia were awarded as best teachers in
Prep and Junior schools respectively. Mr. Arjasab Khan Zafar, Headmaster
Senior School, was awarded merit certificate as best headmaster and cash prize
for producing excellent results in all board exams and O level exams.
On this important occasion the best gallian was declared Raza Rahman from Tipu House, who also secured 7 A's in O level Cambridge Exams.
At the end Chief Guest along with the Principal and other guests visited the science exhibitions of Senior, Prep and Junior schools.
This year again Tipu House
remained on top by getting the Cock House
Shield, while Iqbal House succeeded
in getting the Runners-up Trophy from Babar House with close margin. Babar
House and Jinnah House remained on and 4th house positions
respectively.
